You will begin to see safety toe standards transitioning from the ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standards to new standards known as ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials). ASTM International is one of the largest voluntary standards development organizations in the world and a preeminent source for technical documentation for industries worldwide. You can find all sorts of safety footwear at WorkingPerson.com. Each pair is a little different giving you choices so you can find the perfect pair of safety toe boots or shoes.

Two of their testing standards known as F2412-05 Standard Test Methods for Foot protection and F2413-05 Standard Requirements for Protective Footwear are replacing and updating the ANSI Z41 document. Information on these standards can be found at ASTM.org. The introduction of these newer standards are a continuation of a long-standing effort to help protect against toe, metatarsal and foot bottom injuries. These standards also include test methods and performance requirements for footwear providing electric hazard shock resistance, conductive, static dissipative, and dielectric properties as well as chain saw protection. The new ASTM protective footwear standards are enhanced with expanded information on upper class 50 and class 75 toe protection performance requirements.
